For those interested in visiting Costa Rica (and I hope that you will), here’s a map of all your options for Nonstop or Direct International Flights to/from Juan Santamaria Int’l Airport (SJO)… our primary airport, near the capital city, San José. Also, as promised, I have added the map for flights to/from Daniel Oduber Quirós Int’l Airport (LIR) in Liberia, below the SJO map. I will keep these maps as up-to-date as I can. It is currently up-to-date as of mid-September, 2017. Please note that some routes do not offer daily service, while some offer more than one flight per day. Flights noted as “Seasonal” on these maps usually operate from December through April.
I am able to provide assistance with travel planning and booking airline tickets. Please note that I am a professional and I do charge a fee for my services, but I believe that you’ll find you get more out than what you put in, with me. 🙂 Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance with your plans and/or tickets.
Before you look at these maps, consider which airport should you fly into. Most passengers choose SJO. It’s close to the capital city, has more flight options than LIR, and often offers cheaper airfare. SJO is also more centrally located, making it more convenient to more destinations within Costa Rica. LIR is primarily used by those visiting the Arenal Volcano area, Monteverde, and Guanacaste. Guanacaste is the northwestern province of Costa Rica, where most of the major all-inclusive resorts and some of the popular beach towns are located. If you would like help choosing the right airport and flights, please contact me at email@example.com for assistance with your tickets. First, the SJO map, which grows on almost a monthly basis…
Next… The LIR map. Notice that LIR caters almost exclusively to tourism from the USA and Canada. However, we hope to continue to see the expansion of flights beyond that. LIR currently only has about one-quarter the traffic of SJO, but LIR is growing much faster (over a 25% increase in passengers in 2016 over 2015).
